OnePlus and Oppo are jumping the gun on their own ColorOS 17 rollout. Both companies had set October 29th as the date the Android 17-based software would start reaching phones. Users in parts of Asia are getting it already.

OnePlus confirmed the ColorOS 17 release for the OnePlus 15 through a post on its community forum. The update is currently limited to India and arrives as firmware CPH2745_17.0.0.102(EX01). Anyone already enrolled in the beta program gets a lighter download, around 540MB. Everyone else is looking at a much bigger file, over 3.5GB, since it's a full jump rather than an incremental patch.

To check manually, OnePlus 15 owners can go to Settings > System & Updates > Software update. If nothing shows up there, the Release Candidate Program under Settings > System & Updates > Software update > Beta Program has an "update now" option worth trying.

Oppo's side of the rollout is wider. Through separate forum posts, the company has confirmed ColorOS 17 is live for the Find X9 series and a handful of other Oppo phones, again ahead of the scheduled date later this month. Availability depends on the device: the Find N6 foldable is getting its update in Thailand first, while the rest of the covered phones are rolling out in India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

As with OnePlus, Oppo is splitting the update by user group. Those already running the ColorOS 17 beta get a smaller package of around 500MB. Everyone on stable software is downloading close to 3.5GB.

Both companies describe this as a staged release rather than a flat switch-on. The update is going out in limited regions first and will expand gradually, which is standard practice for a major Android version bump that touches system UI, settings menus and background services across a wide device lineup. It also means owners outside India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, even on supported models, may not see a notification yet.

Realme, the third brand under the same parent company as OnePlus and Oppo, has not started its ColorOS 17 rollout. Gizmochina reports it could begin at any point now that OnePlus and Oppo have moved early, though no date has been confirmed.

What exactly ColorOS 17 changes beyond its Android 17 base hasn't been detailed in these early rollout notices, and neither company has published a full changelog alongside the update. That tends to follow once the release reaches a wider set of regions. For now, OnePlus 15 and Find X9 series owners in India have the clearest path to the update, and the rest of the eligible lineup should see it arrive in the coming days as the rollout widens.
