Dell has cut prices on three of its productivity laptops, each listed at Dell.com when Windows Central reported the discounts on Thursday.
The entry point is the Dell 15, now selling for $1,099.99, down from $1,149.99. It pairs an AMD Ryzen 7000 7730U processor with 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a 15.6-inch FHD (1920x1080) non-touch display running at 120Hz.
Step up to the Dell 16 and the price climbs to $1,199.99, cut from $1,349.99. It swaps in an Intel Core 7 chip and a 16-inch FHD+ touchscreen (1920x1200), still with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, giving it the most screen space of the three.
The Dell 14 Plus sits at the top of the range at $1,399.99, reduced from $1,579.99. It carries an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a 14-inch QHD+ (2560x1600) non-touch display with anti-glare coating and a 120Hz refresh rate, in a thinner, lighter chassis than its siblings. TechRadar praised the laptop for battery life past 13 hours and its portability, according to Windows Central's roundup of the deals.
None of the three machines is built for gaming. All rely on integrated graphics, and Windows Central notes they will struggle with anything beyond very light titles like Minecraft, leaving cloud gaming as the practical option for anyone who wants to play on one of these.
Upgradability differs across the lineup. The Dell 15 is the only one of the three with RAM that can be swapped out after purchase, since it isn't soldered to the board the way it is in the Dell 16 and Dell 14 Plus. The SSD can be replaced for more storage on all three models.
Whether the current prices are worth taking now depends on how much patience a shopper has. Black Friday sales typically bring deeper cuts across Dell's lineup, and anyone willing to wait a few more weeks could see these same configurations, or newer ones, drop further still. For someone who needs a work laptop right now and doesn't want to limp through the holidays on an aging machine, the discounts already represent real savings off the listed prices.
Dell has not said whether these prices will hold through the weekend or whether additional markdowns are planned before Black Friday arrives next month.
