Ellie & Natasia season 2 premieres on BBC Two on Wednesday, October 21, at 10pm BST. Every episode also streams free the same night on BBC iPlayer for viewers in the UK.

The sketch comedy, built around Ellie White and Natasia Demetriou, is back with a shorter run than before: three episodes instead of the six that made up season 1. Each one now runs 30 minutes, double the 15-minute length of the original episodes. The guest list has grown to match, with Steve Coogan turning up as a modern-day chimney sweep, alongside Sian Clifford, Jamie Demetriou, Asim Chaudhry and Vikki Pepperdine.

The rollout is weekly. Episode 2 airs October 28, and episode 3 closes the season on November 4, each one hitting BBC iPlayer alongside its BBC Two broadcast.

Free options

BBC iPlayer is the only place to stream the show without a TV subscription, and it costs nothing to use, but it isn't a free-for-all account. Viewers need a UK postcode on file and a valid TV Licence to watch. Anyone without both will be locked out of the stream even with a BBC account set up.

As of this writing, Ellie & Natasia season 2 has no confirmed streaming home or broadcast slot in the US or Canada. Viewers in those markets will need to wait for a distribution deal, if one materializes, since neither country currently lists the series on any platform.

What to expect

Season 1 built its following on short, rapid-fire sketches split across six episodes. Season 2 trades volume for length, stretching each outing to a full half hour and leaning harder on the guest cast to carry the extra runtime. Coogan's chimney sweep bit, teased ahead of the premiere, gives a sense of the show's register: absurd premises played completely straight.

With only three episodes this time, the season wraps quickly. The next checkpoint is October 28, when episode 2 lands on BBC Two and iPlayer, followed by the finale on November 4.
