Galaxy S27 Ultra Leaks Point To Rs 1,89,990 Price Tag In India

Samsung has not confirmed the device, but certification filings in India and China alongside a string of leaks suggest a costlier successor to the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a brighter screen and a new chipset.

Samsung's next flagship hasn't been announced, but the paperwork is already piling up. The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra have reportedly shown up on China's 3C safety database and India's BIS certification registry, according to a report by Digit, which is typically one of the last steps before a phone actually ships.

That hasn't stopped the leaks from filling in the rest of the picture, and if they hold up, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will cost a good deal more than the phone it replaces.

What's rumored to change

The current Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at Rs 1,39,999 in India. Reports cited by Digit put the Galaxy S27 Ultra's starting price closer to Rs 1,89,990, a jump of roughly Rs 50,000 if the figure sticks. Samsung has said nothing official about pricing for a phone it hasn't confirmed exists, so treat that number as a leak until Samsung says otherwise.

The screen is tipped to stay at 6.9 inches and QHD+ resolution, but the refresh rate may climb from 120Hz on the S26 Ultra to 144Hz on its successor. Peak brightness could rise too, from a claimed 2,600 nits on the current model to more than 3,000 nits, with Corning Gorilla Armor 2 protection carrying over on the front. The S26 Ultra also uses Gorilla Armor 2 up front and Victus 2 on the back, along with a built-in privacy display mode that dims the screen for anyone looking from an angle.

Inside, the S26 Ultra runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, on One UI 8.5 over Android 16. The S27 Ultra is rumored to move to a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, paired with up to 16GB of faster LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 4.1 or UFS 5.0 storage, running One UI 9 or 9.5 on top of Android 17.

Battery capacity is also said to grow, from the S26 Ultra's 5,000mAh cell to a 5,700mAh silicon-carbon battery on the S27 Ultra, though wired charging is tipped to hold at 60W. Wireless charging is rumored to stay at 25W as well, with no mention yet of a change to the 4.5W reverse wireless charging on the current phone.

Cameras look like the area with the least change. The S26 Ultra's 200MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope telephoto with 5x zoom are all expected to carry over to the S27 Ultra. But some reports suggest Samsung could drop the dedicated 3x telephoto lens entirely, which would leave the new phone with one fewer rear camera than its predecessor. The front camera is rumored to jump from 12MP to 16MP.

None of this is confirmed, and Samsung typically unveils its Ultra flagships in the first few months of the year. Until an Unpacked event is actually scheduled, every spec and price here traces back to leaks and certification filings rather than anything Samsung has said.
