Samsung’s October 2026 security update is live for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 — rolling out now across Europe and India, with the US and other regions following imminently. The patch carries no new features, no UI tweaks, no camera upgrades: just 62 security fixes, including nine critical vulnerabilities flagged by Google. It’s a maintenance drop, not a milestone. And it arrives exactly as expected, in the first week of October, on schedule, for devices launched earlier this year with One UI 9. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra’s update file is 537MB. The others are similar in size. All three models are receiving the same core patch set, with Samsung adding 27 of its own fixes on top of Google’s 45. The rollout began in South Korea. As usual, then expanded globally in stages. That means your phone may not show the update immediately, even if you’re in a supported region. You can check manually via Settings > Software update > Download and install. One UI 9.5 remains months away: Samsung is expected to debut it alongside the Galaxy S27 series in Q1 2027, with the Fold 8 and Flip 8 lineups among the first to receive it. For now, this is about closing doors. Not opening them.
