Amazon’s Kindle Click page-turning remote is priced at $34.99 in the US and goes on sale October 28 — pre-orders are live now. In India, it’s Rs 2,999, according to Amazon India’s listing cited by Engadget. It’s Amazon’s first Bluetooth remote for Kindles, arriving more than a year after Rakuten Kobo launched its own Kobo Remote at $29.99 in November 2025. The Kobo Remote remains available at that price directly from Rakuten, though it costs $31.99 at Target and $33.99 on Amazon US. On Amazon India, it’s listed at Rs 2,799. Both devices solve the same core problem: letting readers flip pages without touching the screen, useful when reading in bed, on a treadmill, or with a stand-mounted e-reader. But they diverge sharply in design, power, and features. The Kindle Click is compact, white with grey buttons, and charges via USB-C. No battery swaps. It adds two dedicated brightness controls and a dual-button sleep shortcut. The Kobo Remote curves 20 degrees for grip, uses a replaceable AAA battery (good for months), and offers tactile differentiation between its concave forward and convex backward buttons. Compatibility isn’t interchangeable: Kindle Click works only with Kindle models from 2024 or later, no support for older devices. The Kobo Remote supports any Kobo eReader with Bluetooth, a broader range. Neither device comes in more than two color options. White and black for Kobo, white-only for Kindle, and Engadget calls both choices “a missed opportunity” given how often users customize their ereaders with cases and stickers. At $5 more, the Kindle Click trades battery longevity for convenience and extra controls. If you’re deep in the Kindle ecosystem and value brightness tweaks and cable charging, it’s the only official option. If you own a Kobo. Or prefer longer battery life and ergonomics, the Kobo Remote still holds up. Pre-orders for the Kindle Click open now. Shipments begin October 28.
