NBC's new sitcom "Newlyweds" premieres Friday, October 23, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes airing weekly at the same time across its 13-episode run.
Jamie Lee Curtis created the show and stars in it, playing the ex-wife of a stuffy professor whose blind date with a free spirit ends in a spontaneous marriage. Real-life couple Tea Leoni and Tim Daly play the newlyweds at the center of the chaos, with Al Madrigal, Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Bill O'Neill rounding out the cast.

Free options
Anyone with an over-the-air antenna in the US can watch "Newlyweds" on NBC at no cost the moment it airs. Cord-cutters can get there through free trials on YouTube TV or Fubo, though both convert to paid subscriptions once the trial period ends.
Peacock does not currently have a free trial running for new sign-ups. A workaround mentioned by Tom's Guide: Walmart+ offers a 30-day trial for $1 that includes a Peacock subscription, which covers next-day, on-demand episodes under the standard plan. Watching live on Peacock still requires the $16.99 Premium Plus tier.
In Canada, viewers whose cable package already includes NBC will be able to watch along the same schedule as the US. There's no separate Canadian streaming deal in place, and no broadcast plan at all has been announced for the UK or Australia.
What to expect
"Newlyweds" leans into familiar romantic-comedy rhythms, with the show promising, in its own marketing language, "a healthy balance of romantic tropes and lighthearted comedy" as Jeanie and James navigate a marriage that started faster than either of them expected. Curtis's character, the professor's ex-wife, is set up as a recurring source of friction for the new couple.
With 13 episodes ordered and a Friday-night slot locked in through the season, NBC is treating the show as a weekly appointment rather than a straight-to-streaming dump. Peacock will carry both the live simulcast for subscribers on its top tier and next-day episodes for everyone else, which is the same split NBC has used for other recent sitcom launches.
