Foldable phones priced close to Rs 2 lakh in India no longer get a pass just for folding. Reviewers at Digit Test Labs put the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the Vivo X Fold 6 through their benchmark suite this week, and the results split almost exactly down the middle.

Start with the hardware you actually hold. The Vivo X Fold 6 is the slimmer and lighter device, at 9.4mm folded and 228 grams, against the Pixel's 10.1mm and 239 grams. Vivo sticks with a book-style design and a circular camera bump that, according to Digit's testers, protrudes noticeably. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold goes for a satin glass fibre composite back and an aluminium frame, with a wider outer screen that Digit's reviewer said makes the folded phone feel closer to using a regular slab phone. Durability ratings differ too: the Vivo carries IP58, IP59, IPX8 and IPX9 certifications, while the Pixel sticks to a single IP68 rating.

Display: Google's numbers hold up better

Vivo advertises a peak brightness of 5,000 nits on both of the X Fold 6's screens. Google claims 3,600 nits on the Pixel. But Digit's own measurements flipped the expectation: the Pixel hit around 3,750 nits on its outer display and 3,220 nits inside, while the Vivo measured roughly 3,200 nits outside and 2,860 nits inside, well under its claimed figure.

Colour told a similar story. In Digit's Calman testing, the Pixel posted a Delta E of 1.64 against the Vivo's 1.78, meaning a slightly more accurate picture, though the Vivo covered a wider 98.92 percent of the measured colour gamut versus 97.66 percent on the Pixel. Digit's tester said they preferred watching on the Pixel after comparing the same shows on both inner screens.

Performance: no contest for gaming

The chips tell a different story. The Vivo X Fold 6 runs MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, and it posted an Antutu score of 2,806,922 in Digit's testing, dwarfing the Pixel 11 Pro Fold's Tensor G6 result of 1,047,605. The gap widened further in 3DMark's Wild Life Extreme GPU test, where the Vivo scored 5,471 against the Pixel's 2,812.

Geekbench flipped the script a little. The Pixel actually scored higher in single-core, 2,272 to the Vivo's 1,571, though the Vivo edged ahead in multi-core, 5,292 to 5,593 for the Pixel, which is closer than the Antutu gap suggests. Neither phone handled sustained load especially well in Digit's throttling test: the Vivo dropped to 53 percent of peak performance, the Pixel to 61 percent.

For gamers specifically, Vivo's advantage is concrete. BGMI runs at up to 90 FPS on the X Fold 6, capped at 60 FPS on the Pixel. Digit's reviewer noted that's still short of 120 FPS, which neither phone at this price offers.

On software, both run Android 17, with Vivo layering on OriginOS 7 and multitasking tools like Origin Workbench, which keeps one primary task open alongside up to four supporting ones. Google counters with its own Pixel software and AI features rather than matching Vivo's split-screen tricks feature for feature. Which one matters more will come down to whether a buyer wants a sharper screen or a faster chip under a near Rs 2 lakh foldable.
