Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale wraps up on October 7, and desktop PCs are getting some of the bigger price cuts of the event. PCMag rounded up nine discounted machines on Tuesday, spanning everything from a $150-off Mac Mini to a sub-$325 mini PC meant for digital signage, not gaming.
Apple's current Mac Mini gets a $150 discount during the sale. PCMag gave the machine an Editors' Choice award in its review, with the outlet's Joe Osbourne writing that it "outperforms mini PCs powered by the latest silicon from AMD and Intel, some of them costing more than twice as much." The review unit carries 24GB of memory, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port alongside multiple Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Dell's Pro Tower is down 33% in the sale. It ships with a Core i3 chip, integrated Intel 730 graphics capable of driving two 4K monitors over HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, 16GB of RAM and a full terabyte of storage, along with Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6. PCMag calls it a fit for a small business or home office setup rather than anything graphics-heavy.
HP has two machines in the mix. Its OmniDesk tower, styled with a woodgrain front panel instead of the usual RGB look, is 29% off and pairs a Core Ultra 7 processor with 1TB of storage. PCMag had previewed the line at CES and noted its compact footprint and port selection. Separately, an HP all-in-one with a 24-inch FHD IPS display and a pop-up webcam for physical privacy is down 30%, bundled with a wired keyboard and mouse.
Lenovo's ThinkCentre Neo 50q, a compact tower aimed at everyday office work, is also discounted, with this Intel-based bundle including a 64GB external drive. PCMag has previously reviewed an ARM-based version of the same machine and found it ran quietly with Windows 11 Pro's enterprise security tools built in.
Gamers on a budget have a CyberPower PC desktop priced at just over $1,000, built around an RTX 5060 GPU and a Core i5 processor, enough for 1080p play in current titles if not 4K. It comes with a one-year parts and labor warranty and free lifetime tech support.
Two smaller mini PCs round out the list. The GMKTec M6 Ultra, under $500, runs a Ryzen 5 7640HS chip with Radeon 760M graphics, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, and can be expanded to 128GB of RAM across its two SO-DIMM slots. A cheaper option from Kamrui, under $325, uses a four-core Ryzen 7330U with integrated Radeon graphics and 16GB of RAM, aimed at light workstation duty or a media server rather than gaming.
Prime Big Deal Days pricing is active only through the end of Wednesday, October 7, and Amazon requires a Prime membership to unlock the full discounts, though a 30-day trial is available for shoppers who aren't already subscribed.
