Ultrahuman Ring PRO owners in the United States can now run quick cardiac check-ins directly from their smart ring. The fitness hardware maker began rolling out Heart Scan on Wednesday, giving wearers an on-demand reading that takes exactly sixty seconds to complete.
The tool relies on diagnostic software from FibriCheck to process readings before posting them to the primary dashboard. Once a measurement finishes, the app creates an exportable medical file containing the full pulse trace from the session, a tachogram, and a Lorenz plot mapping beat-to-beat variability. Wearers can store the files locally or hand them over to healthcare providers.
Smart rings generally lean on passive, background monitoring rather than active tests. While the Ring PRO already logs resting pulse, heart rate variability, and overnight recovery data during sleep, the new check-in aims to capture how the cardiovascular system responds to isolated events. That includes catching rapid shifts right after exercise, sudden spikes during work stress, or the drop that happens while unwinding at night.
Integrating Real-Time Scans With Trend Tracking
Ultrahuman is positioning the spot checks as a companion to its Cardio Adaptability PowerPlug, an optional software add-on built to map broader cardiovascular shifts over weeks and months. Where the long-term plugin monitors baseline trajectory, the one-minute scan catches immediate, real-time physiological dips and spikes.
Eligible Ring PRO members can turn on the scan feature at no extra charge inside the companion application.
It follows a push by the hardware maker to bridge consumer fitness metrics with formal clinical tools. In September, the company introduced an integration with HealthEx, priced at $4.99 per month or $45.99 annually in the US. That service pulls medical history from treatment centers across the country, merges it with metrics captured by the ring, and compiles an aggregated Visit Pack ahead of clinical appointments.
Backing for these medical-grade ambitions is already in place. Ultrahuman has raised $70 million in venture funding to date, securing backing from institutional investors including Qualcomm Ventures, Alpha Wave, and Labcorp.
For now, the Heart Scan feature is active exclusively for Ring PRO hardware in the US market, with rollout starting through an app update on Wednesday.
