Amazon Alexa Tablet 8 is now $199.99 — its first price cut since launch.
That’s $30 off the regular price of the base 64GB model. The 128GB version sits at $249.99. Both are shipping now, in Graphite, Teal, and Rosette color options.
This isn’t a Fire HD tablet rebranded. It’s Amazon’s first Android tablet built from the ground up to run Google Play, not just Fire OS. It’s also the first to carry the “Alexa” branding outside of smart displays, and the first to position itself as a direct alternative to entry-level Android tablets like the Galaxy Tab A or iPad mini, albeit at a lower price point.
The Alexa Tablet 8 packs an 8.7-inch display, 4GB RAM, an 8-core chip, dual stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. Battery life is rated at 14 hours of video playback. Its aluminum unibody construction marks a step up from the plastic Fire HD lineup.
It runs stock Android, not Fire OS, meaning users get full access to the Google Play Store, including apps like YouTube, Chrome, and Gmail. Amazon services remain deeply integrated: Prime Video, Audible, Amazon Music, Luna, and Kindle all ship preloaded. There’s even a dedicated Kindle reading mode that silences notifications and adjusts screen warmth for extended sessions.
The timing lines up with Amazon’s broader Black Friday push. Alongside this tablet deal, the Fire TV Stick 4K dropped to $25, a 58% discount, and the Echo Show 16 is available with a $100 pre-order discount.
Only the 8.7-inch Alexa Tablet model is discounted so far. Amazon has not announced pricing or deals on any larger variants, if they exist.
No official US or Indian launch event preceded this sale. The device appeared quietly at the start of November 2026, just before Amazon’s Echo hardware refresh. There is no mention of availability in India, the UK, or other markets in the source material, only US pricing is confirmed.
The $199.99 price puts it $100 below the entry-level iPad mini (which starts at $499) and $50 below the base Galaxy Tab S9 FE ($249.99). But unlike those devices, it lacks cellular options, stylus support, or official IP ratings for dust or water resistance, details not mentioned in the reporting.
This is not a limited-time flash sale. As of the 9to5Toys report at 7:32 a.m. ET on November 1, 2026, the price was live on Amazon.com.
What happens next? Amazon may expand the deal to other models, or adjust pricing ahead of Cyber Monday. For now, the Alexa Tablet 8 is the only Android tablet in Amazon’s lineup, and the first one priced under $250 with full Play Store access.
