Motorola’s Razr Ultra 2026 is receiving Android 17 in the United States beginning today, October 6. The update comes as build vA171WLH.38-19-5 and requires a 4.1‑GB download. According to the changelog shared by the tipster, the release is described as “smarter, safer, and more productive.” It brings a fresh, expressive design with less visual clutter, improved multitasking and stronger protection controls. Icons have been redrawn and now support theming, while the Settings app has been reorganised for easier navigation. One of the headline changes concerns the AI Key. Users can now remap it with a double‑tap. Inside the AI Key settings a “Double Press” option lets you pick from several actions, such as launching the digital assistant, opening Motorola Qira, triggering Pay Attention or choosing another shortcut. The Live Updates UI has also been refreshed. Its new look takes inspiration from Apple’s Dynamic Island, presenting a pill‑shaped area that shows ongoing alerts and background activity. Notification Summaries is another addition. Moto says it will condense long messages and group chats into quick recaps so you can catch up at a glance. Display settings gain an HDR mode. An Intensity slider lets you push the brightness and colour range higher or pull them back to make the picture softer. The update notes mention a Tap to Send feature, although the source has not yet seen it in the early builds. Haptic feedback when dismissing a notice has been spotted, and it feels similar to the vibration you get on Google Pixel phones when you swipe away a notification. Motorola had previously outlined which devices would get Android 17. In August the company listed the Razr Ultra 2026, the Razr Ultra 2025, the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra, the Motorola Razr+ 2026 and several other models as eligible. After that reveal Motorola went on to detail the full Android 17 experience. It highlighted stackable widgets that can be piled on top of each other, new sharing tools for connected devices and the ability to hide labels when using the Classic Style home screen layout. The update was first spotted this afternoon. Motorola advises owners to keep their handset close because the rollout should widen over the coming days, reaching more users as the week progresses.
