Apple HomeView Max is tipped to launch with a 9-inch screen and motorized swivel arm — but not yet. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is “on track” to release a larger, robotic version of its new smart home hub, codenamed HomeView Max or HomeView Ultra, as a premium tier alongside the existing model. No launch date, price, or official specs have been announced. The current HomeView launched last week. Gurman’s report, published in his PowerOn newsletter and cited by T3 Smart Home. Describes only internal plans and engineering direction. He did not say it would ship this year, or even before next year’s WWDC. The robotic arm is said to rotate the display a full 360°, using Siri AI to detect speaker location during FaceTime calls or HomeKit interactions. It won’t move on wheels or reposition itself across rooms, just pivot in place. The screen is expected to retain the square aspect ratio of the original but scale up from the base model’s unspecified size to nine inches. Gurman explicitly frames it as an addition, not a replacement: the $299 HomeView (US) and Rs 34,999 (India) unit remains Apple’s entry point. The Max/Ultra variant would sit above it, likely priced higher. Though Gurman gives no figure. Its naming aligns with rumored Mac and iPad tiers, including the MacBook Ultra, which Apple has reportedly invited media to preview in Los Angeles next week. That event is focused on Macs and iPads, not HomeView. So while the robotic hub is now on record as under active development, it’s not on the agenda for October. Or November. Or, per Gurman, necessarily before 2027.
