The College Planner consolidates deadlines, financial aid steps, and school-specific requirements into a single timeline. Students can update progress, ask clarifying questions (“What’s a FAFSA deadline?”), and see what’s left. It doesn’t auto-fill forms or submit applications. It organizes.
It explains. It reminds. IOS users gain continuous multi-photo capture: snap several pages in sequence, and ChatGPT stitches them into one PDF, useful for scanning notes, handouts, or textbook pages. Flashcards now generate from user-uploaded notes, turning paragraphs into study aids.
Both features are live now on iOS, per The Verge’s reporting. The timing is pointed. Common Sense Media just rated ChatGPT for Teens “unacceptable”. Citing insufficient parental alerts and persistent homework-doing behavior.
OpenAI’s response isn’t a policy overhaul. It’s a feature pivot: redirecting teen usage toward planning and studying, not shortcutting. The company also cites average daily use under 15 minutes, a number meant to counter concerns about overreliance. No India-specific rollout details are given.
No mention of Android parity for the photo-PDF tool. No pricing for premium tiers. No launch date beyond “soon.” What’s clear is this: the ChatGPT app is doubling down on structured academic support. Not just conversation, for its youngest verified users.
