Samsung has begun rolling out the October 2026 security update to Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 devices in Europe and India — the first regions outside South Korea to receive it. The patch landed in Samsung’s home market just days ago, but only now is it expanding globally. SamMobile reports that Europe and India are among the earliest markets to get the update, though the US, UK, Japan, and several others remain unlisted in the current rollout. The firmware version for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is F9763XXS3AZIJ. Versions for the Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 share the same AZIJ suffix and are expected to be roughly identical in size, 537.17MB for the Ultra model. That file includes fixes for 62 distinct security issues, according to Samsung’s official bulletin. No breakdown of severity, affected components, or exploit status has been published. Users must manually trigger the download: Settings > Software update > Check for updates. This is strictly a security release. Not a feature upgrade. While Samsung has confirmed that the Z Fold 8 series and Z Flip 8 will eventually ship One UI 9.5, there is no timeline yet for its beta program or stable launch. The company has not announced when the next major interface update will arrive, nor whether this security patch bundles any minor UI tweaks. Rollouts for Android-based foldables typically take two to four weeks to reach all supported countries. Given the pattern so far, users in the US and other unconfirmed markets should expect the update by late October, assuming no delays or regional re-prioritisation. Samsung has not issued a formal statement beyond the firmware metadata and patch notes.
