Google has pushed Chrome 155 out to users worldwide, packing an enormous bundle of 247 security patches across desktop and mobile platforms. The update stands out for its sheer volume, landing just days after a minor routine release addressed 11 bugs on October 1.

Four of the flaws resolved in this build carry a Critical severity rating. All four stem from use-after-free memory errors, a vulnerability class where software attempts to access memory addresses that have already been cleared, often giving attackers a way to execute unauthorized code. Google has kept detailed descriptions and technical reports for those issues restricted, a standard precaution until a sufficient portion of the desktop and mobile user base installs the patched build.

Another 53 vulnerabilities are classified as High severity. Among them, security researcher reporting netted a $5,000 bounty for an incorrect authorization flaw in Chrome's Site Isolation architecture, tracked as CVE-2026-102322. High-priority fixes also address defects in the ANGLE graphics layer, Autofill data handling, the address bar Omnibox, Chrome's Google Translate integration, and the standalone iOS browser code.

The update breaks down further into 122 Medium-severity and 68 Low-severity issues. The Chrome Releases announcement makes no mention of active in-the-wild exploitation for any of the 247 patched items.

Desktop users on Windows and Mac will see versions numbered 155.0.8059.39 or 155.0.8059.40, while Linux machines receive build 155.0.8059.39. On phones, Chrome 155 arrives as build 155.0.8059.39 on Android via the Google Play Store, inheriting the same security protections as desktop systems. Apple device owners receive version 155.0.8059.37 through the iOS App Store.

Google started distributing the build quietly on September 30 to a small slice of users before widening availability on October 6. Enterprise environments tied to the Extended Stable track are moving to version 152.0.7977.158 on Windows and Mac instead.

Because the rollout happens in waves, desktop installations might not pull the new build automatically for days. Users can prompt the download immediately by opening Chrome's main menu, heading to Help, and selecting About Google Chrome to trigger the installation.
