Google Maps 26.44.4 now fully supports the iPhone Duo — and it’s the first major navigation app to do so meaningfully. The update, rolling out globally as of November 4, 2026, transforms how the app uses both screens: no more awkward left-aligned outer-screen layout, no more wasted space on the inner display.
Instead, it treats the inner screen like an iPad, search bar and controls docked left, map or satellite view stretching edge-to-edge. Street View gets its own dedicated left pane by default, with a one-tap option to expand it full-screen. Close the Duo mid-Street View? It shifts cleanly to the outer screen, with a close button returning you to the map, no reload, no glitch, no guesswork.
Apple’s iOS 19.2 dock positioning had forced earlier versions to shrink and offset the interface. That’s gone. Google didn’t mention any of this in its App Store release notes, just “bug fixes”, but users on the device are already confirming the change in real time. The update is live for all iPhone Duo owners via the App Store.
