Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to eat a serious chunk of your SSD. PlayStation Game Size, an account that tracks PS Store releases by digging through the storefront's backend data, has listed the game's download size at 210GB on PlayStation 5, according to Eurogamer. Rockstar and Sony have not confirmed the figure themselves, so treat it as a strong early read rather than an official spec.
That's a big file, but not an outlandish one by 2026 standards. Call of Duty titles have long carried install sizes well past 200GB once every mode is on your drive, though Activision at least lets players strip out campaign or multiplayer data they don't touch. GTA 6 may not offer that kind of flexibility. Rockstar has built the game around one continuous open world, and when GTA Online eventually lands on top of it, that mode is expected to share the same map and much of the same single-player content, which makes selective uninstalling a harder problem to solve.
It's also not clear whether the 210GB figure already bakes in a day-one patch or whether players should expect to download more on top of that once the game unlocks. Launch-day patches have become close to unavoidable for releases this size, so a bit of headroom on your drive beyond 210GB would be the safe move.
