Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 has racked up over 100,000 pre-orders on Amazon in the past 30 days — more than GTA 6’s PS5 and Xbox Standard Edition combined, which total around 11,000 over the same window, according to NeoGaf forum data cited by Notebookcheck. The figure does not include PlayStation Store sales, digital purchases outside Amazon, or GTA 6’s Ultimate Edition, which is digital-only and reportedly popular in its own right. It also excludes physical GTA 6 stock at retailers like Best Buy or GameStop, where no comparable sales data was provided. The Zelda remake launched pre-orders on September 8. GTA 6 reservations opened in late June, a three-month head start that makes the Nintendo title’s Amazon velocity all the more striking. It’s now the top-selling game on Amazon’s U.S. Marketplace. Price helped: Amazon offered a $10 pre-release discount on the digital version, unusual for a first-party Nintendo release. At Best Buy, where it remains $69.99, demand triggered midnight launch events. Physical copies ship with a cartridge and a limited foil cover. A collector draw absent from GTA 6’s Standard Edition, which ships as a disc but no physical extras beyond the case. Bundled hardware is moving just as fast. The special-edition Zelda Switch 2 console and Pro Controller are routinely sold out, with scalpers flipping units for profit. Rockstar counters with tangible merch, T-shirts, pins, a collector’s box, and a soundtrack album. But those don’t appear in Amazon’s game-sales rankings. Sensor Tower estimates GTA 6 has moved 5.75 million units so far across all platforms and editions. That number includes full sales, not just pre-orders, and it’s likely to widen the gap once the game launches October 24. But for now, on Amazon, Zelda is winning the pre-order race. Not because it’s outselling GTA 6 outright, but because it’s dominating the one channel where both titles are directly comparable: physical and digital listings on the world’s largest retail marketplace. Pre-orders for Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake remain open ahead of its November release. GTA 6 goes live globally on October 24.
