GTA 6 digital preloading begins Tuesday, November 10 — and players need 212 GB of free space on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S to get started. Rockstar confirmed the date and size in a Newswire post, calling it “up to 212 GB depending on your device.” That’s not the final install size, just the preload file.

Actual installed footprint may differ, and PS5 and Xbox versions could vary slightly. Rockstar hasn’t broken them out separately. Earlier PlayStation Store data had pointed to 210 GB. Either way: clear space now, or risk waiting hours on launch day, November 19.

The timing isn’t uniform. PS5 preloading kicks off at midnight local time in each region on November 10. Xbox Series X|S preloading starts globally at 12 a.m. GMT, meaning 4 p.m. PT and 7 p.m. ET on November 9. That’s a full day earlier for US Xbox players than their PS5 counterparts.

Physical copies, code-in-box editions, “should” hit retailers starting November 12, Rockstar says. That’s two days before launch, and three days after PS5 preloading begins. No word on whether those codes will activate early or only on November 19. Rockstar is also giving away digital cover art and a Leonida map for free on its site starting November 19.

A double-sided physical poster will follow shortly after launch on the Rockstar Store: $0.99 standalone, or free with any store purchase. Preload FAQs are live on Rockstar’s support site, but no separate PS5 vs. Xbox install sizes, no PC release date, and no mention of cloud or Game Pass availability.

GTA 6 launches globally on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
