Honor has pulled the wraps off the Win Tablet, a compact gaming-focused slate built around Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same chipset family powering this year's flagship phones. It arrives alongside the Honor Win phone lineup, and it is aimed squarely at people who want console-adjacent performance in something smaller than a typical 11-inch Android tablet.
The screen is the headline spec here. Honor has fitted an 8.4-inch OLED panel running at 2304 x 1440 resolution, a pixel density of 324 PPI, and a 240Hz refresh rate, housed in a frame with a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio. That refresh rate is unusually high for a tablet of this size and puts the Win Tablet closer to dedicated handheld gaming devices than to the iPad-style slates most people use for video and browsing.
Under the display sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm's current top-tier mobile platform, paired with a dual-VC vapor chamber cooling system meant to keep clock speeds steady during long gaming sessions. Honor has also added dual X-axis linear motors for haptic feedback, the kind of touch usually reserved for flagship phones rather than tablets.
Software tuned for gaming
On the software side, Honor has built a tool it calls Geek Center, which gives users direct control over system behaviour that's normally buried or absent on Android tablets. That includes adjusting display refresh rates, setting memory scan sizes, and defining low-battery protection limits, with the option to save those configurations for later. There's also a "Full Throttle" performance profile for squeezing out maximum output when it matters, presumably at the cost of battery life and heat.
Battery capacity sits at 10,000mAh, a large figure for a tablet this size and one that should help offset the power draw of a 240Hz panel running flat out. Honor hasn't detailed exact charging speeds for the Win Tablet in this announcement, though the company has historically paired big batteries on its devices with fast wired charging.
FoneArena, which first reported the specifications, says the HONOR WIN Tablet is now available to order in China and will officially go on sale there starting October 31st. There's no confirmation yet of a launch in India, the US or elsewhere, and Honor hasn't released pricing for any market.
That leaves the obvious questions open. How the Win Tablet is priced will determine whether it's positioned as a niche gaming accessory or a mainstream alternative to tablets from Samsung, Xiaomi and Lenovo that also use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or its earlier Snapdragon 8 Elite sibling. Until Honor confirms international availability, buyers outside China will have to wait and see whether this one crosses over at all.
