IO Interactive will release 007 First Light on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027. The James Bond origin story was initially slated to reach the platform in September, but the studio pushed the project back to March to refine the release following two separate scheduling shifts.
Pre-orders are live at $69.99 on the Nintendo Store and at third-party sellers like Amazon. The developer did not outline separate Indian pricing or local retail timelines in its October 14 blog post. Anyone putting down money early gets a free bump to the Deluxe Edition, mirroring the promotional rollout from the game's debut earlier in 2026.
That pre-order tier unlocks a four-piece equipment pack consisting of the Gleaming Lighter, Gleaming Earphones, Gleaming Dart Gun, and Gleaming Pen. It also packages four film-inspired wardrobe options alongside a platform-exclusive suit modeled on Pierce Brosnan's look from GoldenEye. Amazon has secured its own physical run, dubbed the Specialist Edition, which bundles a Classic Tuxedo outfit with the GoldenEye cosmetic.
Content and performance
Unlike ports that arrive stripped down, the Switch 2 release will include the post-launch material issued to date. Players get the Valhalla Protocol TacSim update out of the box, as well as New Game+, Photo Mode, and extra cosmetics that were distributed as free downloads after the original launch.
IO Interactive has not published exact technical targets for resolution or handheld battery draw. But the footage accompanying the release date announcement showed gameplay running above 30 frames per second. How the port holds up across busy firefights remains unconfirmed until hardware testing surfaces closer to launch.
The studio is already mapping out the roadmap beyond the base campaign. IO Interactive previously confirmed a narrative expansion centered on Bawma, one of the primary supporting characters, though a release window for that extra chapter has not been shared.
Switch 2 owners looking to jump into MI6 can order digital or physical copies ahead of the March 18 arrival.
