Apple has added Reachability to the iPhone Duo in iOS 27.3 beta — its first official software feature designed specifically for the device’s dual-screen layout. The update, released to developers on 3 November 2026, lets users shift content horizontally across the internal display with a single swipe, making top-right or top-left interface elements reachable with one thumb while holding the unfolded phone.
It’s not vertical Reachability, that’s been standard on iPhones since iOS 7. This is new: horizontal, screen-spanning, and built only for the Duo’s 8.3-inch internal display. The gesture works only when the phone is open. A short swipe left on the left edge pulls the right half of the screen toward the left.
A short swipe right on the right edge pulls the left half toward the right. No animation lag, no delay, just instant repositioning of the active UI layer. Settings are buried where you’d expect: Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Reachability. AppleInsider notes it’s off by default.
