Lava has added another curved-screen phone to its lineup, and this one is built specifically for the shops that sell most phones in India: the offline retail counter.
The Lava Aura Curve 5G went live on the company's website on Tuesday, priced at Rs 23,999 for the sole 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. It comes in two colours, Ambar Blue and Him Silver, and will be sold only through Lava's network of physical retail partners, backed by the company's "Free Service @ Home" after-sales program.
If the price and the spec sheet feel familiar, that's because they are. Lava launched the Virat Curve for online buyers in September at the same Rs 23,999, with the same 6GB and 128GB combination, differing mainly in colour options (Ellora Slate, Heritage Indigo and Makrana Ivory) and sales channel. The Aura Curve is effectively that phone rebuilt for brick-and-mortar stores.
The headline feature is the display setup. Up front sits a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 3D curved AMOLED panel running at 120Hz with a claimed 1,100 nits of peak brightness and 1920Hz PWM dimming, a flicker-reduction technique meant to ease eye strain at low brightness. On the back, below the camera module, Lava has built in a small secondary screen that shows the time, battery level, notifications and custom text, the kind of always-on mini display more commonly seen on Nothing phones.
Power comes from MediaTek's Dimensity 7100, a 6nm octa-core chipset clocked up to 2.4GHz, paired with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM, expandable by another 6GB through virtual memory, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Lava says the chip scores above 800,000 on AnTuTu, though that figure comes from the company and hasn't been independently verified.
For cameras, the Aura Curve 5G carries a 50-megapixel Sony IMX752 primary sensor with electronic image stabilisation and 2K video recording, alongside modes like Pro Video, Night Mode, Dual-View Video and Sports Mode. A 13-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls.
The 6,000mAh battery supports 45W fast charging, with a 33W charger included in the box, Lava's stated 720 hours of standby time, and a claimed 660 minutes of continuous YouTube playback on a single charge. Durability credentials include an IP64 rating against dust and splashes, MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, and what Lava calls IronGuard Protection using Al-Si DT Star 2 cover glass. The back panel is finished in vegan leather.
Software runs on Android 16, with Lava promising two years of OS upgrades and three years of security patches, plus its own Vayu AI features and a built-in IR blaster for controlling TVs and air conditioners.
Sumit Singh, Lava's senior vice president and head of product, said the Aura series is aimed at offline shoppers wanting "an ultra-premium experience at affordable price-points," and pitched the phone's mini display and leather finish as suited to "festive gifting." With Diwali shopping season underway, that timing looks deliberate. The Aura Curve 5G is available now through Lava's offline retail partners across India.
