IKEA’s KLIPPBOK water leak sensor, priced at $29.99 in the US and Rs 2,499 in India, is now shipping with Matter 1.3 support — and it’s the first real-world proof that Matter isn’t just a spec sheet promise anymore. It works out of the box: slap in a AA battery, place it near a water heater or under a sink, and it chimes immediately when wet.
No hub required. No app setup to trigger the alarm. But add Matter, scan the QR code in Homey Pro, Apple Home, or Google Home. And it becomes a remote alert system.
That’s the difference: local action without Matter, remote awareness with it.
