Microsoft wants Mac power users, and it is putting cash behind the pitch. Through November 23, the company is offering up to $1,000 in promotional cash back on top of regular device appraisals for customers in the US and Canada who trade in a MacBook Pro toward the newly announced Surface Laptop Ultra.
The incentive does not come off the register total at checkout. Anyone buying the new machine must purchase it first, either directly through Microsoft or at Best Buy, and submit an online claim showing proof of purchase. A third-party trade-in partner then inspects the mailed MacBook before processing the payout. Once approved, the customer receives the baseline trade-in valuation alongside whatever promotional bonus Microsoft assigns to that specific hardware tier. Eligible notebooks must meet Microsoft's condition requirements and be sent within 15 days of finishing the initial claim.
Pricing for the Surface Laptop Ultra starts at $2,599.99 in the United States, placing it at the entry floor of machines built around Nvidia's RTX Spark platform. The portable workstation packs an 18-core or 20-core processor, a mini-LED panel, and between 24GB and 128GB of unified memory. Graphical workloads run on an Nvidia RTX GPU equipped with up to 6,144 CUDA cores. Connectivity includes several regular ports along with a proprietary magnetic USB-C connector.
