Motorola Signature 27: price, specs, camera, EVS sensor, GrapheneOS, launch date

Motorola Signature 27 launches at $1,599 in the US and ₹1,34,999 in India — yes, that’s the price Motorola just confirmed for its new flagship. It goes on sale November 19 globally, with Indian availability matching the US date. No UK or EU pricing was disclosed in the reporting. The phone is not a camera-first device, but its imaging system is now the second-highest rated on DxOMark, behind only the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra and ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro.

That matters, because Motorola hasn’t cracked the top five in DxOMark’s smartphone rankings since 2021. This time, it did, and it did it with three conventional cameras plus something new: an EVS action sensor. Not a fourth lens. Not a depth module.

A real-time pixel-change detector built to lock focus and exposure during motion. It’s never been seen before in a production smartphone. The main camera uses Sony’s Lytia 910 sensor, 50MP, Type 1/1.28, with LOFIC for better dynamic range. The telephoto is 200MP periscope with 100x Super Zoom and a Type 1/1.56 sensor.

The ultrawide is 50MP, Type 1/2.76. All three are standard high-end specs, but the EVS is the outlier. It doesn’t take pictures. It helps the other three take them faster, sharper, more reliably when things move.

The display is a 6.9-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED with Tandem OLED tech, peak brightness up to 12,000 nits, though only locally and in brief bursts. Bang & Olufsen audio is confirmed as exclusive to this model: hardware tuning, speaker architecture, and software processing all co-developed. No other current smartphone carries the Audio by Bang & Olufsen badge.

Under the hood sits Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, eight-core CPU, six performance cores, and the chip Motorola says makes the Signature 27 ‘the world’s fastest Android smartphone’. DxOMark didn’t test speed. It tested cameras. And gave Motorola its highest-ever score.

The phone ships with GrapheneOS support, Motorola’s first device to do so, a detail highlighted across multiple community posts as a privacy milestone. But the launch itself is about positioning: a $1,599 slab phone from a brand that hasn’t had a true global flagship in years. It arrives November 19.
