Petit Planet, HoYoverse’s upcoming life-simulation game, is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 — and it’s the first console platform officially named for the title. The announcement came during a HoYoverse presentation on Friday, just hours before this report. No release date beyond “2027” has been given for the Switch 2 version.
The game launches first on PC, iOS, and Android on December 4, 2026. It will not launch on PS5 at launch, and HoYoverse has not announced any other consoles at all. That silence has already drawn backlash from PlayStation fans, per Notebookcheck. But Nintendo’s new hardware gets top billing: exclusive early-console status, no caveats, no ‘coming later’ asterisks.
This isn’t a port in development. It’s the lead platform for the console rollout. And it’s aiming straight at Animal Crossing’s 11 million monthly players, on Nintendo’s own turf. Petit Planet lets players grow crops, fish, craft furniture, build relationships with neighbors, explore islands, and shop at a Galactic Bazaar.
