Nintendo Switch 2 shipments dropped 37.4% year-on-year in the fiscal second quarter — from 10.36 million units in Q2 FY2025 to 6.49 million in Q2 FY2026, after Nintendo raised the console’s price by $50 in May 2026. The dip was confirmed in the company’s earnings report released Thursday, covering the period ending September 30, 2026.
The Switch 2 launched in June 2025. Last year’s Q2 numbers included heavy launch demand, while this year’s reflect post-launch cooling and a steeper entry point. The $50 hike was attributed to rising memory costs and US tariffs, mirroring cost pressures that affected PS5 pricing earlier in the cycle. Nintendo did not disclose the new US retail price, only that it increased by $50 from launch.
Indian pricing has not been reported. The UK and EU prices are also absent from the earnings filing. No other regional pricing appears in the source material. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launched globally on November 5, 2026, the same day as Nintendo’s earnings release, and is already scoring 96 on Metacritic.
