The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is live on Nintendo Switch 2 — and its first wave of Nintendo Switch Online rewards is already claimable worldwide. Nintendo has dropped eight new profile icons for subscribers, each themed around the remake’s characters and iconography: young Link, adult Link, Princess Zelda, Saria, Sheik, Kaepora Gaebora, a Deku Baba, and a Spiritual Stone.
Each icon costs 10 Platinum Points, meaning players need 80 points total to collect the full set. Platinum Points are earned through daily logins, in-app missions, and gameplay challenges, no payment required. Once claimed, icons remain in a player’s collection permanently, even if their Nintendo Switch Online membership expires later.
This isn’t a one-off drop. Nintendo says it will rotate additional Zelda-themed rewards, including backgrounds and frames, weekly over the next four weeks. To claim them, subscribers open the Nintendo Switch Online app from the console’s home screen, navigate to Missions & Rewards, and exchange accumulated points. Notebookcheck reports the rollout is live as of November 6, 2026, with no regional restrictions noted.
Polygon’s companion guide confirms the remake retains all 13 songs from the original, but their unlock conditions have been adjusted to reflect changes in the remake’s structure and pacing. For example, the Song of Time is now triggered by interacting with time cubes scattered across Hyrule, not just by speaking to specific NPCs.
The Sun’s Song still shifts day to night and vice versa, but players must now locate its sheet music inside the Royal Tomb rather than receive it from Sheik. The Scarecrow Song remains customizable, young Link teaches a sequence to Bonooru at Lake Hylia. Adult Link plays it back to activate the scarecrows’ teleport function.
Other songs follow updated logic too: the Minuet of the Forest unlocks only after reaching the Forest Temple entrance, not earlier in the Lost Woods. The Bolero of Fire requires entering the Fire Temple proper, not just approaching its gates. Polygon notes that these tweaks aren’t arbitrary, they’re tied to narrative beats and environmental storytelling shifts in the remake.
The guide also warns readers that its full song list contains spoilers, and links to deeper walkthroughs for every dungeon, side quest (including finding Richard the dog and dealing with Cuccos), and completion targets like Pieces of Heart, Gold Skulltula tokens, and Magic Bean planting spots. Neither source states the game’s price, confirms whether it’s bundled with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, or specifies physical vs. Digital-only availability.
What is confirmed: the remake is out. It runs on Switch 2. And its service-layer integration, via icons, points, and timed rotations, began the moment it launched.
