Oppo Find X10 Pro Max Price Tag Draws Backlash At €1,799

The flagship costs nearly as much as the folding Galaxy Z Fold 8, and buyers are comparing it unfavorably to last year's cheaper Find X9 series.

Oppo's newest flagship has a camera system and battery life that reviewers have called genuinely strong. None of that is what people are talking about.

The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max launched in Europe at €1,799, a figure that puts it within €200 of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung's folding flagship, which runs €1,999. It's also pricier than most non-folding Android phones on the market, and only slightly above the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which Samsung sells in Europe for €1,769.

The backlash has been loud enough that 9to5Google's Ben Schoon, who reviewed the phone, devoted a separate piece to the reaction rather than the device itself. Readers on Reddit have pointed out that Oppo's price lands in the same neighborhood as Apple's iPhone 18 Pro Max, and that pricing in some regions looks disproportionate given what the phone actually offers over its predecessor.

That predecessor is where the real comparison hurts. The Find X9 Ultra can still be bought for less than the Find X10 Pro Max, and some buyers have noted that the Find X9 Pro, Oppo's second-tier model from last year, actually carries more memory and a bigger battery in European markets while selling for hundreds of euros less. The Find X9 Pro is currently available in Europe for around €1,000, roughly €800 under the new Pro Max.

Not just an Oppo problem

Oppo isn't alone in pushing prices up. The Find X10 Pro Max runs on a MediaTek chip rather than Qualcomm silicon, and 9to5Google's reporting frames the jump as part of a wider industry trend tied to the cost of memory and AI hardware, the same pressure Samsung's S26 Ultra pricing reflects. Xiaomi is also rumored to be facing steep European pricing for its next launch, though nothing is confirmed there yet.

There's a silver lining for UK shoppers, at least. Some buyers have flagged discounts and bundled offers on the Find X10 Pro Max that bring the effective cost down, though no outlet has published a confirmed discounted retail price. Whether similar deals show up elsewhere in Europe, or whether Oppo adjusts pricing once initial sales figures come in, isn't clear yet.

What's missing so far is any confirmed US or India pricing or release date for the Find X10 Pro Max. Oppo has a limited retail footprint in the US, and its Indian launches often carry separate pricing and timing from Europe, so anyone searching for a rupee or dollar figure will have to wait for Oppo to make that call directly rather than relying on the European number as a guide.

For now, the conversation around the Find X10 Pro Max looks less like a debate about cameras or chipsets and more like a referendum on what flagship phones cost in 2026, with Oppo caught in the same pricing spiral as everyone else.
