Pixel Care+ is live for Pixel 11 and Pixel 10a — here’s how it beats (and loses to) AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon

Pixel Care+ is live for the Pixel 11 series — and it undercuts carrier insurance on price and repair deductibles. But it caps replacements at two per year. Here’s what that means for buyers in the US and India.

Google has launched Pixel Care+, its official protection plan for the Pixel 11 series — including the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, alongside the Pixel 10a, with pricing and terms now live across the Google Store and Google Fi Wireless. The plan is available in two tiers: one covering accidental damage only, and another adding loss and theft.

It’s not a new program, but its rollout now covers the full Pixel 11 lineup, and its structure stands in sharp contrast to carrier insurance offerings from AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, especially on price, deductibles, and claim limits. This isn’t about whether you should insure your phone. It’s about which plan actually pays off when your Pixel 11 Pro Fold slips from your hand, or vanishes entirely.

And the math is clear: Pixel Care+ wins on cost, but loses on replacement volume. For most buyers, that trade-off leans heavily toward Google’s plan. A Pixel 10a can be covered for $6/month (or $119 for two years) for accidental damage only. Add loss and theft, and it’s $7/month or $139 up front.

The Pixel 11 starts at $10/month ($199 for 24 months). The Pixel 11 Pro Fold tops out at $21/month or $359 for two years. All plans include zero-deductible screen repairs (except on the Pro Fold), free battery replacements at ≤80% capacity, extended warranty coverage, and mail-in or in-person service via uBreakiFix or Google Stores.

Accidental damage claims carry deductibles of $49 (Pixel 10a), $59 (Pixel 11), and $99 (other Pixel 11 models), with a $1,500 cap per claim. Replacement claims, for lost or stolen devices, cost $59 (10a), $79 (11), or $149 (Pro Fold and others), and are capped at two per rolling 12-month period.

That’s where carriers diverge sharply. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon all charge flat monthly rates, mostly $19, though T-Mobile charges $13 for the Pixel 10a and $26 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Their repair deductibles are higher: AT&T charges $100–$275, T-Mobile $89–$449, and Verizon $99–$279, depending on model. But they allow more replacements: T-Mobile permits five per year.

AT&T and Verizon offer unlimited. New York residents get a wrinkle: Google does not offer the loss-and-theft tier there, while carriers do. Pixel Care+ is available now. No launch date is given for future expansions beyond the Pixel 10a and Pixel 11 series, but if history holds, it will roll to Pixel 11 Lite and Pixel Watch 4 later this quarter.
