Samsung's Galaxy Tab S12 lineup launched last week, and the launch-week deals are still worth a look. Amazon is now offering a free $200 gift card with purchase of the Galaxy Tab S12+, according to 9to5Toys, which flagged the promotion on Monday.
There's a catch. Amazon does not appear to be carrying the larger Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra at all, per the report, so the gift card offer is limited to the Plus model. Anyone set on the Ultra will need to buy direct from Samsung.
Amazon's listing also lets shoppers stack the gift card with a separate discount: a 30 percent cut on Samsung's official Pro Keyboard accessory when bought alongside the tablet, 9to5Toys reported. Neither the site's base price for the Tab S12+ nor the discounted keyboard price was specified in the report, so treat the savings as additive rather than a fixed dollar figure until Amazon's checkout confirms it.
Meanwhile, Samsung's own store is still running the trade-in program that launched alongside the tablets, offering as much as $550 off against an eligible device. That's a different kind of deal. It only pays off if you've actually got a comparable tablet sitting around to hand over, and the final discount depends on what Samsung's trade-in estimator says your old device is worth. For someone without a tablet to trade, the flat $200 Amazon gift card is simpler math, and 9to5Toys called it arguably the stronger value play for that exact reason.
Worth noting: gift card promotions and trade-in valuations are the kind of offer that can change without much warning, and retailers don't always honor them past a certain order date. The 9to5Toys report captured the offers as they stood Monday morning, not a permanent price.
So the shape of the decision comes down to two paths. Go through Samsung directly and lean on a trade-in, which rewards people upgrading from a recent model and want the Ultra. Or buy the Tab S12+ through Amazon and pocket $200 in flexible store credit, plus a cheaper keyboard if you want one.
Neither way, the Ultra stays a Samsung-exclusive purchase for now, at least through Amazon. Whether Amazon eventually lists the bigger tablet, or whether Samsung sweetens the trade-in terms further as the Tab S12 series settles into its first full retail month, isn't something either company has said yet.
