Sony's top QD-OLED set has dropped well below its typical asking price. The 65-inch Sony Bravia 8 II was listed at $2,149 on retailer Greentoe when Notebookcheck reported the promotion on Sunday evening.

That figure undercut Amazon, which listed the identical television at $2,498 at the time. Greentoe's pricing also dipped past Amazon's earlier record low of $2,198 recorded in December 2025.

While Sony reserves its flagship moniker for the Bravia 9 II, the Bravia 8 II serves as the brand's premiere OLED display. It relies on a QD-OLED panel rather than the standard WOLED hardware found on the larger 77-inch Bravia 8, delivering richer color saturation alongside deep black levels.

Buyers who opt for Sony usually do so for video processing rather than peak luminance numbers. The Bravia 8 II carries an XR Processor designed to reduce artifacts and upscale lower-resolution broadcasts or console titles. It also features Acoustic Surface Audio+, a sound setup that places vibrating actuators directly behind the glass panel so voices appear to emanate from the actors speaking. Unlike Samsung's competing S95H, the Sony model retains integrated support for DTS:X surround audio.

Gamers get a 120Hz maximum refresh rate and quick response times. But port selection remains a compromise: only two of the TV's four HDMI ports meet the full HDMI 2.1 standard, which limits flexibility for anyone juggling both an Xbox Series X and a PlayStation 5 alongside an external soundbar hooked up to eARC.

Room lighting also demands consideration. Testing by display outlet Rtings highlighted that the panel cannot reach the peak brightness of the LG G6 or the Samsung S95H. In bright rooms dominated by large uncovered windows, deep blacks can take on a grayish tint. What you get in return are remarkably wide viewing angles and exceptionally accurate color reproduction straight out of the box.

Sony rarely leads on discount pricing, usually commanding a stubborn markup over LG and Samsung counterparts. At $2,149, the Bravia 8 II narrows that gap for shoppers prioritizing cinema-grade image clarity over sheer panel brightness.
