A lifetime subscription to VoiceType Unlimited was marked down to $39.97 on StackSocial when PCMag reported the promotion on Tuesday evening. That cuts the utility's regular $419 list price by more than 90 percent, bypassing recurring subscription charges for voice dictation.
Voice-to-text software usually leans heavily on monthly subscriptions, particularly for tiers that do not cap how much text you can process. VoiceType's Unlimited tier discards those monthly word limits entirely, targeting users who spend broad stretches of the workday writing or logging notes across desktop software.
The tool operates across both macOS and Windows, inserting transcribed text straight into active workspaces rather than forcing users to paste from an external scratchpad. The company cites native compatibility with productivity and project tracking platforms such as Notion and Linear, allowing spoken text to enter fields directly.
According to VoiceType, the software can process speech at speeds reaching 360 words per minute while maintaining a claimed 99.7 percent accuracy rate. For context, typical keyboard typing hovers around 40 words per minute. Beyond raw transcription, the utility automatically applies punctuation and capitalization as you dictate. It also incorporates real-time grammar revisions, suggests cleaner sentence phrasing, and adjusts its formatting tone depending on which app window currently holds focus.
For shared workspaces and open offices, VoiceType includes a Whisper Mode designed to register spoken audio at low volumes without losing transcription fidelity. The software supports more than 35 languages.
Promotions hosted through StackSocial and parent distributor StackCommerce fluctuate frequently, and retailers often alter prices or exhaust license inventories without prior notice. As of PCMag's reporting on October 13, the lifetime license stood at $39.97 for Mac and Windows setups.
