The Xbox Ally X20 is real — and it costs $2,500 for the full bundle in the US. That price includes the handheld itself, a custom Pelican hard case, Dbrand’s Killswitch case and accessories, and the limited-edition ASUS ROG XREAL R1 AR glasses. No docking station for the glasses. No tempered glass screen protector.
Just one very specific, very expensive package, announced and unboxed by How-To Geek on October 15, 2026. There is no standalone price listed for the Xbox Ally X20 alone, only that the bundle is $1,200 more than the device by itself. So the handheld, at minimum, starts at $1,300. In India, no pricing has been reported.
In the UK or EU? Not mentioned. So far, this is a US-only number. And a steep one.
It’s also not a general retail launch. This is a limited 20th-anniversary edition, co-branded by ASUS and Xbox, commemorating two decades of ASUS and 25 years of Xbox. The timing lines up with the October 23–25 Poznań Game Arena, but no booth presence or availability details were given. What is confirmed: the device ships with Windows 11, a new 7.4-inch OLED display (up from 7 inches), TMR magnetic thumbsticks to combat drift, and a translucent chassis with gold-accented internals visible through the shell.
The ergonomics are improved over the original Xbox Ally X, with deeper rubberized grips. And yes. It has a dedicated Xbox button. The full-screen Xbox experience runs natively, and early impressions say controller input is finally consistent.
But this isn’t a review. It’s an unboxing. A first look. A $2,500 statement piece.
Not a mass-market Windows laptop. Not a mainstream Xbox controller. A collector’s item, wrapped in Pelican-grade armor, meant to be seen, and shown off. Pre-orders aren’t confirmed.
Retailers aren’t named. Availability windows aren’t disclosed. What we know is what arrived in that gargantuan box: hardware built for hype, not volume. The next step?
