Yeti’s LoadOut GoBox 28 hard-shell roller case is now available at $350 — a direct, heavier, and pricier alternative to Pelican’s Protector 1510 for photographers and videographers who fly with gear. It weighs 6.1kg (13.5lb), compared to the Pelican’s 5.4kg (12lb), and comes in tan, black, and orange. Unlike Pelican, Yeti doesn’t include customizable foam inserts by default. Instead, it offers the Kor protective insert, a vacuum-formed, gear-molded system sold separately for $250. That’s more than six times what Pelican charges for a comparable foam insert ($40, bundled with its case). The GoBox 28 is IP65- and IP67-rated, meaning it resists dust, water jets, and full submersion. It has lockable latches and tie-down slots, plus a segmented telescoping handle. A departure from Pelican’s single-piece design. Yeti says the case fits most airline carry-on size limits, though weight allowances will be tight. It ships empty. Yeti sells padded camera cubes, but DPReview notes they lack the dense cushioning needed for high-end lenses and bodies. The company also offers lid-mounted organizers for small accessories. Yeti isn’t targeting only shooters: the GoBox line includes larger 68 and 88 models aimed at broader outdoor and industrial use. But this 28-liter version, the smallest in the GoBox roller series. Is the first explicitly pitched to camera crews. Its arrival signals Yeti’s formal push into pro-gear transport, not just coolers and duffels. Pre-orders are live on Yeti’s site.
Yeti GoBox 28 Camera Case Price, Specs, Release Date
$350. IP67 rated. No foam included. Yeti’s first dedicated camera roller case is here — and it bets photographers will pay a premium for vacuum-formed protection instead of cut-to-fit foam.
