Putting a screen on a wall usually means hunting for studs, drilling drywall, and figuring out how to hide the power cable. Apple would rather you pay someone else to do it.
The company is teaming up with security firm ADT to send technicians into US households this autumn to mount its newly announced HomeView hub. Technicians will handle the bracket work and setup for the display, along with compatible hardware from partner brands including Schneider Home and LG.
Both the wall-mounted version and the standalone tabletop variant cost $299 in the US. Apple has not announced pricing or availability for India or other international markets yet, and it has not confirmed whether installation services will expand outside the United States.
Hardware and Mounts
Apple built the HomeView around a 7-inch screen flanked by bottom-facing speaker perforations, matching the aluminium Space Grey and Silver finishes used on its iPads and MacBooks. While the desk version sits on a counter right out of the box, the wall variant requires dedicated mounting hardware. Schneider Home developed three dedicated brackets to hold the screen flat against drywall or gang boxes, which customers can install themselves or outsource to an ADT worker for an added fee.
Beyond hanging the panel, ADT's crew will take on hardwired accessories that require electrical work or structural drilling. That covers smart deadbolts, wired video doorbells, and select items under the Apple Home Collection umbrella across broad sections of the country.
Fitting Into the Ecosystem
HomeView serves as more than just a kitchen intercom. It acts as an Apple Home hub, placing it alongside the HomePod, the HomePod mini, and the Apple TV 4K as local controllers for automation routines and remote access. Connected hardware from LG's lineup specifically requires an active Apple hub to function, making the display an anchor for users who want a visual dashboard instead of a headless speaker or a television box.
Teaming up with professional installers is not a fresh concept in this category, but it marks an unusual shift for Apple, which historically emphasizes simple consumer setup. ADT has maintained a similar relationship with Google since 2020, wiring Nest cameras, smart thermostats, and doorbells after Google bought a stake in the security provider.
By taking the same route, Apple lowers the barrier for buyers who want an uncluttered wall installation without risking uneven drill holes. ADT has opened a dedicated portal on its website outlining service details, with installations scheduled to begin across the US later this autumn.
