Apple is preparing a second wave of product announcements in the final week of October — just days after its scheduled October 13 event.
That first event is expected to introduce a new smart home hub with a screen, an updated HomePod mini, and a refreshed Apple TV 4K. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman confirmed those three devices will debut on October 13, though he did not specify whether Apple will host a live event or issue press releases and videos instead.
Also anticipated for the October 13 rollout: a new OLED iPad mini and updated Macs, including a redesigned iMac and a touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro. Both powered by the M6 chip.
Then comes the second wave. MacRumors reports, citing “multiple sources familiar with the matter”, that Apple will unveil additional products before October ends. The report gives no model names, pricing, availability windows, or launch format, not even a firm date. It does not say whether Apple will stage a second live event or revert to its recent pattern of video-based reveals.
The timing would make October unusually dense for Apple. The iPhone Duo launches October 23. Quarterly financial results are also due before month’s end.
None of the reported late-October products have been named publicly. There is no indication they overlap with the October 13 lineup. Nor any confirmation they’re entirely new categories. Rumours about AI-powered accessories, updated AirPods, or a revised Apple Watch Series 11 have circulated in niche forums, but none appear in the MacRumors or Bloomberg reporting cited here.
What is clear is the cadence: two distinct announcement windows, compressed into one month. That breaks from Apple’s recent habit of spacing major hardware launches across quarters, and departs sharply from last year’s single-event October schedule.
The move may reflect internal pressure to clear a backlog of delayed projects, or it could signal a strategic pivot toward more frequent, smaller-scale reveals. A model already used by Samsung and Google for mid-cycle updates.
For consumers, it means a longer wait for concrete details. No specs, prices, or regional availability have surfaced for the late-October batch. Indian pricing, for instance, remains unmentioned across all sources, as do launch dates for markets like Japan, Brazil, or the UAE.
What happens next? Apple’s October 13 event kicks off the month’s hardware cycle. Then, between October 24 and 31, another set of announcements is expected. Though not guaranteed. Until Apple confirms anything, the late-October wave remains contingent on sourcing that MacRumors itself describes as preliminary.
No regulatory filings, certification listings, or supply chain leaks have yet corroborated the second wave. Nor has Apple issued any statement acknowledging it.
