Apple's engineering and support operation in India is turning into real money. Apple Operations India, the subsidiary that handles software development and global support work for the company, reported revenue of ₹650 crore for the fiscal year 2026, according to regulatory filings cited by The Economic Times.

That's just one line item. Across all its activities, Apple Operations India's total revenue crossed ₹1,400 crore for the year, a sharp jump from FY25. The filings point to manufacturing support revenue nearly doubling over the same period, which is the clearest sign yet that Apple is leaning harder on its Indian teams as iPhone and other hardware production ramps up at factories run by partners like Foxconn and Tata Electronics across the country.

The pattern suggests Apple isn't just assembling phones in India anymore. It's routing more of the engineering, support and software work that keeps that manufacturing running through an Indian subsidiary, rather than handling it entirely out of Cupertino or other regional hubs. A near-doubling of manufacturing support revenue in a single year is a big swing for any division, and it tracks with Apple's broader push to shift a growing share of iPhone output to India over the past few years.

This is separate from Apple India Pvt Ltd, the entity that handles retail and sales of Apple products within the country. That business posted revenue from operations of ₹1,03,853 crore in FY26, according to the same filings, the first time it has crossed the ₹1 lakh crore mark. The two numbers tell different parts of the same story: Apple's consumer sales in India keep climbing, and so does the behind-the-scenes engineering and support work that keeps the supply chain and software stack running.

Apple doesn't break out India-specific figures in its quarterly earnings calls, so filings like these are one of the few windows into how the Indian operation is actually performing. The company has previously said India is among its fastest-growing markets, and CEO Tim Cook has repeatedly flagged the country as central to both manufacturing and sales strategy.

What isn't clear from the filings is how much of Apple Operations India's software and support revenue comes from work serving the US and global Apple business versus India-specific projects, or how headcount at the unit has changed to support that growth. Apple hasn't commented publicly on the figures beyond what's in the regulatory filings themselves.

For now, the numbers are a snapshot rather than a roadmap. The next filing cycle, due around this time next year, will show whether the manufacturing support jump was a one-off tied to a specific production push or the start of a steadier climb as Apple keeps building out its India footprint.
