Apple may not be finished with the iPhone 18 generation. Reports gathered by India Today Tech point to a second launch window in early 2027, when the company is expected to introduce the standard iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e and the iPhone Air 2, months after the iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone Duo arrived.
Apple has not confirmed any of this. No launch date, pricing or spec sheet has come from the company itself. Everything below traces back to supply-chain tipsters and analysts, and several of them disagree with each other.
The broad idea is that Apple is splitting its release calendar, giving the Pro models and the foldable their moment first before following up with the cheaper and mid-tier phones between February and April next year. A Weibo-based tipster claims production of the standard iPhone 18 could start in late November 2026, with a sizeable inventory being built for a spring release. That claim contradicts an earlier leak which suggested Apple would scale back standard iPhone 18 output to prioritise the Pro Max and the Duo.
What the standard iPhone 18 could look like
The iPhone 18 is tipped to carry a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen running at 120Hz, roughly matching the iPhone 17, with a brighter panel and a smaller Dynamic Island cutout. A dummy unit shared by tipster Majin Bu shows two vertical camera lenses sitting inside a horizontal bar on the back, a design change from the current model. Colour options floated so far include silver, pink, dark blue and burgundy, though none of that is confirmed.
Inside, the phone is expected to run on Apple's A20 chip, said to be built on a 2-nanometre process that places RAM alongside the CPU, GPU and Neural Engine on a single wafer. A C2 modem and iOS 27 are also tipped. RAM is where the leaks genuinely clash: analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has pointed to 9GB for both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, while analyst Jeff Pu has said 12GB for the standard model. A separate leak describes six-channel memory built from 1.5GB dies. None of the three accounts has been confirmed, so treat the RAM figure as unsettled for now.
Camera-wise, the dual 48-megapixel main and ultra-wide setup is expected to carry over, though the front camera is pegged at either 18 megapixels or 24 megapixels depending on the source. Apple may also strip the capacitive sensing out of the Camera Control button.
iPhone 18e and Air 2
The iPhone 18e is tipped to keep a 6.1-inch display and most of the standard model's hardware, trimmed down to hit a lower price. The iPhone Air 2 is expected to retain a titanium frame and 6.5-inch screen while picking up an A20 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, a second 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera and better battery life than the first-generation Air.
India pricing, if the leaks hold
Apple raised prices on the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air in India this year, and the same pattern is expected to repeat. Current estimates put the standard iPhone 18 at around Rs 99,900, the iPhone 18e at around Rs 79,900 and the iPhone Air 2 at around Rs 1,49,000, sitting between the standard and Pro tiers. None of these figures come from Apple, and they could shift before any announcement.
For now, the only confirmed Apple news is what's already shipping: the iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Duo. Whether the rest of the lineup lands on the timeline these leaks describe will only be clear once Apple itself says something.
