Best Buy was running a one-day "Deal of the Day" markdown on the HP Omnibook 3 laptop, pricing it at $599.99 instead of its usual $799.99, Windows Central reported Thursday.
The discount, a 25% cut according to the outlet, applied only for the day it was published, so shoppers checking this later should expect the retailer's regular price to be back in place.
The Omnibook 3 in this configuration runs an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Windows Central describes the RAM as soldered and non-upgradable, but says the SSD can be swapped out through an M.2 NVMe slot for a drive up to 1TB.
The headline feature is a 14-inch 2K OLED touchscreen, which Windows Central says handles video and livestreams with strong contrast. On battery life, the outlet's own numbers don't fully agree with each other: one part of its writeup cites "32 hours" of use, another says the laptop can run for "potentially up to 41 hours." Either figure would be well above what most Windows laptops in this price range claim, though neither has been independently verified here.
As a Copilot+ PC, the Omnibook 3 includes a neural processing unit Windows Central rates at 45 TOPS, the baseline Microsoft has set for its AI-accelerated Windows features like Recall and on-device image generation. That puts it in the same hardware class as other Snapdragon X and newer Intel and AMD Copilot+ machines competing for the same mid-range shelf space.
Windows Central says it has previously recommended the Omnibook 3 for students and office workers who need a dependable machine for everyday work without paying flagship money, and notes that TechRadar has praised the laptop in its own coverage as well.
The outlet frames the timing as a judgment call for shoppers. Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026, and could bring a steeper discount on the same machine or a different one entirely. But Windows Central also points to what it calls a "RAM crisis" pushing component costs up industry-wide, arguing that waiting could just as easily mean paying more rather than less by the time Black Friday arrives.
For now, the $599.99 price was tied to Best Buy's single-day promotion as reported, with no indication from Windows Central of how long the retailer might keep running it or whether it will return before the holiday sales period begins in earnest.
