IOS 27.3 and macOS Golden Gate 27.3 public betas are live — now available to anyone who signs up on Apple’s beta testing site. The rollout began Wednesday, November 5, 2026, two days after the developer betas dropped. No hardware restrictions: iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, and Apple TVs all get the update if they’re running compatible versions of their current OS.

But it’s not a full feature dump, this is a targeted mid-cycle release, sharpening what’s already there rather than overhauling it. And yes, it’s the first time Apple has used ‘Golden Gate’ as the macOS codename in a public beta label. That name sticks, no more ‘Sequoia’ or ‘Sonoma’ references in the build strings.

It’s official now. IOS 27.3 brings Vertical Tabs to Safari, a layout option that stacks tabs down the left edge instead of across the top. Adaptive Dark Mode toggles automatically based on ambient light and time of day, not just system-wide scheduling. Siri AI gains cross-app awareness: it can pull data from Notes, Reminders, and Mail to draft replies or surface context without switching windows.

Developers can now register custom actions for Siri, think “Pause my workout” triggering a third-party fitness app’s API, not just Apple’s own. The Health app gets a redesign: Longevity metrics (like biological age estimates, where supported by device sensors) sit alongside custom Insights, user-defined health trends you opt into tracking, like sleep consistency or heart rate variability over time.

IPhone Duo owners get Reachability, finally, letting them tap the bottom of the screen to bring controls within thumb’s reach on the larger display. StandBy mode, meanwhile, now works on non-Duo iPhones too, but only when charging and locked, showing glanceable widgets and Live Activities. Apple Music adds Selfie Sing: real-time vocal harmonization and pitch correction during video selfies, using on-device processing.

On watchOS 27.3, Live Rewind and Siri Recap debut on Series 12 and Ultra 4. Live Rewind transcribes the last 15 seconds of speech, useful for catching a missed name or number. Siri Recap generates daily summaries of voice conversations, pulled from microphone access granted to Siri. MacOS Golden Gate 27.3 mirrors the Safari changes and extends Live Activities to Macs without a Dynamic Island, meaning they appear as persistent banners in the menu bar or as floating windows, not just on compatible MacBook Pro displays.

Apple hasn’t confirmed a final release date, but MacRumors reports December as the expected launch window. Public beta sign-up is free at beta.apple.com. Installations happen via Settings > Software Update on iOS/iPadOS/tvOS/watchOS, and System Settings > Software Update on macOS. No paid program required.

No developer account needed. Just an Apple ID and willingness to tolerate occasional instability. This isn’t iOS 28. It’s not even a preview of it.

It’s iOS 27, tightened, with vertical tabs, smarter dark mode, and Siri that remembers what you were doing five minutes ago. And it’s out now.
