Apple is set to raise the price of the base-model iPhone 18 — its first non-Pro iPhone launch since 2023, with a higher starting cost expected early next year, according to Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station. The report, cited by The Verge and spotted by 9to5Mac, confirms the iPhone 18 will not be part of Apple’s fall 2026 hardware event.
Instead, it’s tipped to arrive in Q1 2027, alongside a second-generation iPhone Air and an iPhone 18e model. No official date or pricing has been confirmed by Apple. But the pattern is clear: every iPhone model released this year, including the iPhone 17 lineup, saw a $100 increase in US MSRP.
That suggests the iPhone 18 base model could start at $1,099 in the US and Rs 89,900 in India, assuming Apple maintains the same hike across markets. Those figures are not confirmed, just consistent with Apple’s recent behavior and the broader industry trend. Google and Samsung have also raised flagship prices by $100 over the past 12 months, citing RAM shortages and rising component costs.
