iPhone Duo with Apple Pencil is live: $1,199 in US, ₹99,900 in India

The iPhone Duo accepts Apple Pencil input — but only via USB-C cable. No magnets. No Bluetooth. No pressure sensitivity. It’s here, it’s shipping, and it’s priced at $1,199 in the US and ₹99,900 in India.

Apple has shipped the first iPhone that supports Apple Pencil input — the iPhone Duo, alongside a new USB-C–equipped Apple Pencil. Neither device was announced at a keynote. Both are available now, running iOS 27.2 and compatible with Procreate Pocket, Scribble, and native drawing tools. The pairing is physical: a USB-C cable connects the phone’s port to the Pencil’s newly revealed port.

No Bluetooth handshake. No magnetic dock. Just plug in and draw. $1,199 in the US. ₹99,900 in India. The iPhone Duo unfolds from a 5.4-inch cover display into a 7.6-inch main screen with a nanotech finish that “effectively hides the crease”, though reviewers confirm you can feel it when dragging the Pencil across the full width.

Palm rejection works. Latency is near-zero. Angle and speed are tracked. Pressure sensitivity is not supported.

That’s a hard limit, not a software toggle, not a future update hint. It’s absent by design. The Apple Pencil (USB-C) looks identical to earlier models until you slide the cap back. Then the port appears.

It charges via that same port. It pairs only when physically connected. It does not magnetically attach to the Duo, no groove, no clip, no case-integrated holster. And at over an inch taller than the folded phone, it doesn’t fit inside any standard Duo case.

Users are already asking where to store it. Procreate Pocket runs on the Duo. The iPad version does not. Tool selection sometimes requires double-taps, Eraser, Pen, Brush, but otherwise behaves like its tablet counterpart.

Scribble works across Notes, Safari, and Calculator. You can scrawl equations. You can scribble URLs. You cannot, however, use the Pencil to trigger actions like long-press or squeeze, those gestures remain finger-only.

This isn’t an iPad mini replacement. It’s narrower, lighter, and lacks the iPad’s speaker layout, front camera placement, and app ecosystem depth. But for quick sketching, note-taking on the go, or annotating documents while waiting for a train? It delivers.

Reviewers say it feels “almost exactly the same as it does on the iPad”, just smaller, stiffer, and without pressure. No third-party stylus is certified. No Bluetooth Pencil variant exists. No wireless pairing option is offered, not even as a beta.

The USB-C tether is the only path. Apple hasn’t confirmed whether future iOS updates will add pressure support or Bluetooth pairing. It hasn’t announced an official Duo case with Pencil storage. It hasn’t priced or dated either accessory separately, they ship together as a functional unit, not a bundle.

The iPhone Duo and Apple Pencil (USB-C) are live in Apple Stores, on apple.com, and through major carriers in the US and India, no pre-order window, no waitlist, no regional rollout delay. They’re in stock. They’re shipping. And they’re being used, right now, to draw on a foldable phone screen.
