Qualcomm's newest top-tier silicon has found its first Indian destinations. At India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi, Motorola and iQOO confirmed they will ship devices running the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, while Xiaomi previewed a handset powered by the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. All three brands expect to release the phones in India before the end of the year.
Motorola gave the clearest look at what it has planned. The Motorola Signature 27 marks a deliberate push back toward the top of the market, pairing Qualcomm's Extreme tier silicon with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 910 main sensor. Audio gets tuning from Bang & Olufsen. On the software side, it runs Android 17 at launch and comes with a promise of seven years of operating system and software maintenance.
That update pledge puts Motorola on par with the longest support policies currently offered on Android. Motorola also confirmed two Pantone-certified finishes: Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive. Shivam Ranjan, Motorola's head of marketing for APAC, framed the device around imaging, entertainment and on-device AI processing.
Then there is iQOO. The company announced that the iQOO 16 will arrive among the earliest handsets using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. IQOO chief executive Nipun Marya did not reveal the full spec sheet during the showcase, but the brand's roadmap typically leans hard into gaming thermals, sustained clock speeds and frame stability. Marya said the phone will focus on delivering practical improvements rather than paper specs.
Xiaomi took a slightly different path for its showcase. The Xiaomi 18 Pro will skip the Extreme variant in favour of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform. Gautam Batra, associate director of product marketing at Xiaomi India, pointed out that the phone will feature a secondary display mounted on the rear casing. Xiaomi has toyed with back-mounted screens before, but detailed camera specifications, battery figures and software timelines remain unannounced for this generation.
Qualcomm is pitching both versions of its Gen 6 silicon on improved thermal management, lower power draw and local neural processing for generative tools. That leaves real-world differentiation down to the hardware each brand builds around the silicon.
None of the three manufacturers shared retail pricing or firm release dates at IMC 2026. What they did confirm is that buyers tracking high-end motorola phones and competing flagships will see them hit shelves in India before 2026 draws to a close.
