Budget gaming portables rarely drop below the four-figure barrier without sacrificing core memory or settling for ancient silicon. A discount at Walmart changes that balance for anyone shopping for an entry-level rig in the United States.

The retailer discounted the 15.6-inch MSI Cyborg gaming laptop to $899, marking a 31 percent reduction from its usual $1,299 price tag, according to listing details reported by PCMag on Monday morning. That knocks an even $400 off the machine.

Inside, the Cyborg runs on an Intel Core i5-13420H processor alongside Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU. MSI pairs that processing package with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB NVMe solid-state drive. Visuals run on a 15.6-inch Full HD display refreshed at 144Hz, which fits comfortably within standard expectations for fast-paced competitive shooters where frame pacing matters more than ultra-high resolution.

A sub-$900 price point for an RTX 50-series machine is notable. While the 5050 sits at the floor of Nvidia's current mobile lineup, having 16GB of DDR5 memory right out of the box prevents the immediate RAM upgrades that sub-$1,000 systems often force on buyers. The 512GB storage drive is tighter, especially with modern game installs routinely topping 100GB, but the savings give players enough headroom to pick up a secondary drive later.

The same retail round also brought markdowns across personal audio and home security gear. PCMag reported that Apple's standard AirPods 4 dropped to $99 at Walmart, reflecting a 24 percent cut from regular retail pricing. Those open-ear buds run on Apple's H2 audio processor and support personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

For home security, the third-generation Arlo Essential 1080p HD security camera saw a 22 percent cut. The unit was listed at $38.97 down from its regular $49.97 list price when PCMag spotted the promotion. It features 360-degree pan, tilt, and zoom functionality, two-way voice communication, infrared night vision, and onboard detection software for movement and ambient audio.

Discount pricing on retail storefronts tends to fluctuate rapidly as daily allocations sell out. For shoppers watching the budget gaming space, the $899 tag on the MSI Cyborg remains active through Walmart's storefront while inventory lasts.
