Woot, the Amazon-owned deals site, is selling a Nintendo Switch 2 "Choose Your Game" bundle for $479 once shoppers apply the coupon code SAVETOBER at checkout, according to IGN, which reported the deal on Thursday. The code knocks $40 off and has to be entered manually in the cart, not at the product page, so it's easy to miss.
The bundle pairs a brand-new Switch 2 console with a buyer's choice of one of three games: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokemon Pokopia. IGN notes Pokopia has seen the fewest separate discounts of the three so far, which makes it the pick if you were planning to buy it anyway.
This isn't a small markdown. The bundle launched in June at $499.99. Nintendo then raised prices across its hardware lineup, pushing the same bundle to $549.99. Woot's $479 price, after the coupon, lands below even the original pre-hike MSRP. Amazon Prime members get free delivery, everyone else pays $5 shipping, and the console comes with a 90-day Woot warranty rather than Nintendo's standard coverage.
IGN's deals team doesn't expect a better offer to show up once Black Friday actually arrives, which is the usual signal that a listing like this won't last. Woot deals tend to disappear once stock runs out, sometimes within hours.
A fuller library to pick from
The timing lines up with a busy stretch for the console. Since launch, the Switch 2 catalog has filled out with Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Kirby Air Riders, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, on top of the three bundle titles. The next big release is a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, due November 5, which gives anyone buying the console now something to look forward to within days.
The hardware has also started pulling in ports that used to be console-and-PC exclusives, including Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. IGN points out that the Switch 2's chip is capable enough to run those games at a playable frame rate, something the original Switch could never manage, which positions the handheld as a cheaper alternative to a gaming PC for people who mainly want to play on a screen in their hands.
Whether this specific $479 price survives the next few days is anyone's guess. Coupon-gated clearance deals like this one are usually capped by limited stock rather than a fixed end date, so once Woot's allocation sells out, the listing is expected to revert to the standard bundle price or disappear until the next sale window.
