OLED MacBook Pro Launch Date, Specs, Price

Apple’s first OLED MacBook Pro is set to launch this month or in November — and it’ll be lighter, thinner, and touchscreen-equipped, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The device marks Apple’s long-awaited shift from Mini-LED to OLED for the MacBook Pro line, and the first time a MacBook will ship with a built-in touchscreen and Dynamic Island replacing the notch.

Two sizes are expected: 14-inch and 16-inch. Both will run macOS 27.2, currently in beta. Both will be powered by the M5 Pro or M5 Max chips, not the base M5 found in the new MacBook Air. And both will sit above the current MacBook Pro lineup in price and positioning.

Exactly how much above remains unconfirmed, but Gurman notes rising component costs. Especially memory, mean ‘your wallet may not like it’. No pricing or regional figures were disclosed. No battery life estimates, port count, or weight figures were given.

Only that Apple has reengineered the interior, miniaturized parts, and rearranged components to make the machine ‘lighter’ and thinner. That redesign comes with trade-off speculation: some observers worry about reduced port selection. Others fear battery compromises. Neither is confirmed.

What is confirmed is the timing: October or November 2026. And the fact that this isn’t a refresh. It’s a new category, OLED, touch, Dynamic Island, M5 Pro/Max, macOS 27.2. All arriving at once.
