Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro is now expected to launch on November 6 in the US — but not with the M6 chips many anticipated. Instead, it will ship with the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max silicon, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, as cited by Gizbot. The device remains unannounced, and Apple has issued no official confirmation of either the launch date or the specs. But if Gurman’s reporting holds, buyers expecting a generational CPU leap may need to wait until next year’s M7-based models, which Apple is reportedly accelerating development on, possibly at the expense of this cycle’s chip upgrade. The new MacBook Pro is tipped to debut with a Tandem OLED display. The same stacked-panel tech used in the latest iPad Pro, promising higher peak brightness, deeper blacks, and richer colour volume than current MacBook LCDs. A smaller Dynamic Island is also expected, mirroring the iPhone’s pill-shaped cutout, though Face ID won’t be included. Authentication stays with Touch ID or password. MacOS 27 contains early references to touch support: larger menu bar items on selection, contextual menus triggered by tap-and-hold, and finger-aware UI scaling. None of that confirms the hardware exists. But it does suggest Apple’s software team is preparing for it. No Indian pricing or availability has been reported. Gizbot mentions only the US launch window, November 6. And notes the October 27 event as the likely unveiling date. Until Apple confirms otherwise, Indian customers have no official timeline, no rupee price, and no local retailer details. This isn’t a refresh of last year’s model. It’s a structural break: the first MacBook with a touchscreen since Jobs called the idea ‘ergonomically impossible’ over a decade ago. Whether that matters more than raw CPU gains depends on how you use your laptop, and whether Apple’s touch-optimized macOS feels like an evolution or an afterthought. Pre-orders open November 6. If the date holds.
